Church ministries: Corporate Prayer, Healing Room, Throne, PRAYWB
“For we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord’s sight but also in the sight of man.”
2 Corinthians 8:21
Through the years, Thomas Jefferson’s infamous separation of church and state statement has been perverted, exaggerated and repeatedly used to drive men and women of faith out of public service. Appeal to Heaven (ATH) agrees with the former President that the church and the state must be separate. We deny, however, the interpretation that those who have committed to Christ should not participate in the political process. Many of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence had some Bible School or Seminary training and our founding documents and buildings give credence to Almighty God. These references certainly do not imply a disregard for the teachings of Scripture or those who preach, teach and believe those principles.
This prayer movement believes that we can once again “Appeal to Heaven” on behalf of our nation. Prayer is the key! Check out their website for more details. http://www.appealtoheaven.org/
An Appeal to Heaven
Tree of Righteousness
- Scripture: “But the righteous will flourish like the palm tree, and he will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” (Psalm 92:12 AMP)
- Rooted in God’s Justice: The tree symbolizes a life firmly planted in God’s truth and righteousness, drawing strength and nourishment from His Word.
- Bearing Good Fruit: As we appeal to Heaven, we are called to bear fruits of righteousness, evidenced by our love, faith, and obedience to God.
- A Sign of Hope: Just as the “Appeal to Heaven” flag carried the image of an evergreen tree, so too does this tree point us to God’s eternal promises and unshakable faithfulness.
A Planting of the Lord
- Scripture: “So they will be called trees of righteousness [strong and magnificent, distinguished for integrity, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:3 AMP)
- God’s Sovereignty in Action: God establishes us for His glory, shaping us as a testament to His majesty.
- Planted by Streams of Water: God’s people flourish when they remain close to Him, rooted in His Word, just as a tree thrives by living waters (Psalm 1:3).
- A Kingdom Perspective: Our appeal to Heaven aligns us with His purpose and timing, trusting Him to fulfill His plans.
An Appeal to Heaven in Prayer
- Scripture: “Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation], by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.” (Philippians 4:6 AMP)
- The Legacy of Intercession: Reflect on the historical roots of the flag, where early American leaders sought divine intervention and wisdom.
- Prayer as Warfare: Bold prayers grounded in Scripture unleash the power of Heaven against strongholds and adversities.
- Calling on God’s Name: “If My people, who are called by My name, humble themselves and pray and seek My face…” (2 Chronicles 7:14 AMP).
It Still Works
- Scripture: “Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 AMP)
- God’s Unchanging Nature: An appeal to Heaven is as effective now as it was in history.
- Testimonies of Deliverance: Share examples of God’s faithfulness through prayer, both historically and in modern-day testimonies.
- Trust in the Eternal: When earthly solutions fail, we turn to Heaven, where our help truly comes from (Psalm 121:1-2 AMP).
Heal Our Land
- Scripture: ”…and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 AMP)
- The Promise of Restoration: God’s Word is clear that repentance and prayer lead to healing—personally and nationally.
- Spiritual Awakening: An appeal to Heaven stirs revival in the hearts of individuals, families, and communities.
- Unity in Prayer: Call for believers to stand together as the body of Christ, interceding for their nation and world.
Super Abundance
- Scripture: “Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us…” (Ephesians 3:20 AMP)
- God’s Overflowing Provision: When we appeal to Heaven, we are tapping into His endless resources and abundant grace.
- Blessings for Obedience: Highlight how God honors those who trust Him with every area of their lives, enabling them to flourish.
- Exceedingly Abundantly Above: God promises to do more than we could ever ask or imagine, far surpassing our expectations.
